101 Advisory
All new students enter into the BP 101 advisory, an introductory version of Big Picture. This advisory is broken into three major components:
- Community-based learning
- Self-directed project work
- Group project work
- Power Assessments
Students work closely with the BP 101 adviser and their peers to transition from the traditional learning model to the self-directed learning model of Big Picture.
201 Advisory
Once students have demonstrated that they are successful independent learners, they move into the BP 201 advisory. Here, students are able to take on more self-direction in the form of:
- Independent projects
- Semester-long internships
- Learning plan management
- Power assessments
While 201 students still have significant staff and peer support, they are also granted more freedom and independence to create and pursue the learning opportunities that they choose.
