The Vermont Transferable Skills, developed by the Agency of Education, describe the complex skills students need in order to thrive as adults in the 21st century. Big Picture uses the Transferable Skills as its graduation requirements. In order to graduate, students must demonstrate that they are proficient in the following areas:
- Clear and Effective Communication
- Self Direction
- Creative and Practical Problem Solving
- Responsible and Involved Citizenship
- Informed and Integrative Thinking
At the culmination of their senior year, Big Picture students defend a portfolio that records evidence of their learning in each of the Transferable Skill areas.
